Reporting Potential Community Guideline Violations
From its launch in 2017, Micro.blog has been committed to making the platform a place free from harassment. We have had community guidelines and a dedicated community manager in place from the beginning.
Micro.blog community guidelines
As noted in the guidelines, you can notify us if you feel that another person’s posts or replies have violated the guidelines by emailing community@micro.blog with a link and details if needed regarding why you think the guidelines have been violated.
There is also a “report user” option in the three-dot menu on the user’s profile page. This will automatically send a report to us, but without any details. We will follow up with you to get more information if we need it.
Reports are confidential.
We strongly discourage leveling claims of guideline violations in a post or reply on the timeline itself. It can be interpreted as harassment, an attempt to silence another microblogger by publicly threatening to report them.
Of course, you can express disagreement in a post or reply. If you don’t like what someone else is saying or the way that they are saying it, consider unfollowing, muting, or blocking their account. If you have a concern about whether someone’s post or reply violates our guidelines, use the reporting options listed above.
We respect that Micro.blog users are posting to their own blogs, which they control and for which they are responsible. We know that opinions will vary and strong feelings sometimes flare. We’ll continue to review and adapt the guidelines as new situations come to our attention.
