I never read Dune, but I still loved the film. I didn’t read the book in the meantime, because I want to have the same experience again: no expectations of what will happen or how things will be portrayed. It is exhilarating to let go of all that.

So I’ll be cautiously skimming my timeline now. 🫣

I’m getting better at shooting video of the waves running up on the shore. In this clip, you can see where I start to turn away to avoid the water. Then I whispered to myself “Just stay put.” The instinct to run away is strong, no matter the height of one’s boots

Rockaway Beach with a view of Twin Rocks in the distance. It looks like a massive sea serpent out there in the waves. That arch is only visible from Rockaway Beach to the north. If you are directly facing Twin Rocks, they look solid.

I was a little afraid when I first saw this piece of driftwood at the foot of my path to the beach. 🦖

I tested negative a second time. Feeling much better, if still a bit tired and spacey. Hanging out by the ocean does recharge my energy indicator.

My friends (and occasional clients) at Kaleidoscope have created a very cool app for sorting through your photo roll and choosing the best from a series: Photoscope

It works with the Vision Pro, but it is great on the iPhone and iPad too. I’ve always wanted a tool to sift through multiples!

I stood on a huge log to get a better angle , and when it was time to dismount the wind knocked me off balance. I’m grateful I only have skinned knees.

There’s a sneaker wave alert, so I decided to check out the rough waters around Nehalem Bay’s south jetty at Nedonna Beach. The driftwood was off the charts. I didn’t want to get too close to the waves anyway.

This terse Wikipedia entry for Nedonna Beach has piqued my interest in undersea cables.

I went outside for the first time in over a week. I’ve had covid. I feel exhausted and spaced out. I haven’t been able to read or write for days. I thought I had turned the corner, but today was worse and I tested positive again.

Still, it was nice to see my friend the ocean. Not a lick of grey. ☀️

I’ve been meaning to update my profile photo for a couple months now. I decided to go back to wearing my hair in its naturally curly state. It was weird to see the profile photo with straight hair everywhere. (I’m wearing the triangle wrap I was inspired to knit thanks to @cygnoir.)
